Managing a Show After Breaking News
This day was quite the doozy from start to finish. Going into the shift, the dayside producers were told that there was a possibility of weather blowing up our shows. While weather did end up blowing up the 5PM, it did not end up blowing up the 6PM. However, it definitely changed my plans; reporters were out covering storm damage, but not all of them could safely go live, which shook up my rundown very close to show time. I ended up asking for help at the right times and managed the show as best I could, and it ended up airing without any issues. Good communication between my news desk and EP ensured that the show was as clean as possible.
