Sometimes stories that reporters pitch and follow through on simply aren’t strong enough to lead the show. It’s not ideal, but it happens and is something I am more than prepared to work around. In this show, neither reporter story appeared in the A-block, with all of the content either coming from dayside reporter recuts, stories from the KOMU website, or stories from the wire. Shifts like these are fun for me, I feel immensely rewarded when the grind of writing for the majority of the shift pays off.

At the end of the day, we’re all learning with every shift we work, and experiences like these just give me more opportunities to refine and showcase my writing.
